Wayanattu Kulavan (Thondachan)

Wayanattu Kulavan ( affectionately called Thondachan—meaning the grand old ancestor) is one of the most prominent, acrobatic, and widely revered deities in the Theyyam tradition of North Malabar.He is considered a "god on call"—a deity who answers his devotees instantly. He is depicted as a visually challenged, elderly hunter. He holds a traditional bow and arrow and a walking staff. .When distributing blessings (Prasadam), the Wayanattu Kulavan Theyyam gives devotees areca palm flowers (Kavungin Poovu). First day evening Thottam and Vellatom and next day early morning performs the full-costumed Theyyam.
